About Us

Our Story

Small Steps Daycare and Preschool started in a couple of small rooms in my home with just a few children enrolled. We are now licensed as a group home childcare and are licensed for 12 children. We also put an addition onto our home exclusively for our childcare program. We have a structured routine that we follow daily so that children feel comfortable and confident that they will always know what to expect. Small Steps Daycare is dedicated to the physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and language development of all children enrolled in our program.

Our Mission

The Mission of Small Steps Daycare is to provide each child with a nurturing, loving, fun and safe environment where they are given the opportunity to learn and grow at their own individual pace.

Our goal is to promote early learning through age-appropriate play. Our focus is on each child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual development in preparation for school readiness while having fun and enjoying hands-on activities. We are committed to providing peace of mind for parents in knowing that their child is treated with kindness, understanding, patience and positive reinforcement while they are in our care.

Meet The Owner

Amanda Hall

I have over 17 years of experience in The childcare field. I have an associates degree, soon to have a bachelor’s degree, in Early Childhood Education. I decided to open my own daycare/preschool when I realized how hard it is to find quality childcare in the Coldwater area. Our program offers many educational activities and hands on learning experiences. Small Steps Daycare is star rated and always looking for ways to improve the quality of care that is being provided to every child in our program.
